Lots of parts! Time to get out the bell braces!
For the "Z" braces, we decided to go with large flange vintage style braces
Before these braces can be used, they have to be fitted. I'll want to match the bell-to-valve brace to both the casing curvature and bell curvature. Since it's not really a good idea to use the actual bell as the hammering mandrel, I use a tapered rod. Here, the flange is being shaped to the exact taper of the bell.
And below we see the "Z" braces being shaped and sized.
