Now I can get ready to attach the leadpipe assembly. The leadpipe-to-valve brace is fitted to the casing curvature to assure a tight fit. It it's too loose, you'll end up with a solder blob or worse - a solder run.
Using a pattern tuning slide from another horn, the leadpipe is postioned in its place and I solder the brace to the casing, then the leadpipe to the brace.
